Your board should have AT LEAST 2 1/8″ squares for this set, though, or it will appear crowded. For 2″ squares, consider a 3 3/4″ King, you won’t notice the difference in play but it will fit better on the board.

The pieces look good and yes they don’t have felt bottoms, but I personally like them without the felt. It gives that chess piece sound when you move a piece, not silence as the felt ones do. To me, it seems extremely durable, I mean after all it is all wood, so unless you live with a gorilla, it should last. The cost can’t be beat either! I have seen a cardboard chess board and plastic pieces for almost as much as this one. A great buy and a great chess set!
That being said, the build is of great quality, they are just sending you something other than what you’ve seen. They Definitely need to clean up their act and sales method. Thats unacceptable. I am waiting on the replacement set that supposedly “matches the one listed in auction”. So we’ll see how this one looks…
